Thy will be done…. Later!

ree

Hmm, so I am studying a book by Venerable Louis of Grenada, and usually when I have read a chapter, I ask God to speak to me about it.

Tonight He challenged me, and I will tell you it has been enlightening!

Let me explain. Every morning during my prayer time I pray ‘Thy will be done in all things, before my own will, wants, needs and whims, and those of the world’. Every morning I absolutely mean it too!

However, God has just shown me that a few vices I still have in this world, I am clinging on to. He asked me why I hadn’t asked for His help (grace) to overcome them. Then He told me that I was scared to ask Him for the grace to overcome them because I’m scared I will miss them too much and my life will be missing something!!! This has absolutely blown me away as He (as always) is spot on. He has called me out on something I didn’t even realise subconsciously I was doing.

Every day I was essentially saying ‘Thy will be done… except this’

You know what, whilst I’m writing this, I STILL haven’t asked Him for that help. That is the power of sin, it has a grip on us, it causes us to fear the thought of living without it. Recognising that is halfway there to overcoming it! The other part is asking for Gods grace to do it.

Jesus didn’t come to earth to rescue us from sin and then leave us to save ourselves… he came so that we might have LIFE and have it abundantly and He will absolutely help us if we ask Him to. Sin is a prison that we are often scared to leave!

….gluttony by the way… I knew you were wondering!

We entrust the work on this website to the patronage of Our Blessed Mother Mary.  As she brought Jesus to us, we entrust her to bring us to Him.

We also seek the intercession of St John Paul II whose Papal moto 'Totus Tuus' (which means totally yours) we have used on this website.

We further ask for the intercession of Saint Carlo Acutis who used the world wide web to bring stories of the Eucharistic Miracles to the world.

And finally, we seek the intercession of St Dominic, the founder of the Order of Preachers as we joyfully preach the good news of the Gospel - Laudare - Benedicere - Praedicare (To Praise - To Bless - To Preach)

Our Lady, St John Paul, Saint Carlo Acutis, Saintt Dominic - Ora Pro Nobis (Pray for us)
