Pope Francis

Like many of us, I was so saddened by Pope Francis passing last Easter Monday. This week has felt very strange. Lots of emotions and reflections on this humble servant of God.
I give thanks for his life, his ministry, his leadership and his remarkable example. I probably know more about him now than I did when he was alive as I have watched several documentaries on him this week.
As I tuned in to watch the funeral yesterday I tried as best as I could to join in with the liturgy, praying from where I was and making an act of spiritual communion, but no doubt it is difficult when I’m in my living room watching the events commercial aired on tv, often with a reporter talking over the service.
It was indeed a beautiful service and I found it very moving. I was grateful for the media that allowed me to be involved and watch this beautiful requiem mass.
This morning however, someone from our Diocese who travelled to Rome as a pilgrim for the funeral, shared with us their reflection, which I want to share with you as well as I felt it added something very special. I felt like I was there whilst I was reading it.
The reflection can be found on the following link.
