Sowing the Seeds
If you are have little to no previous experience of the basics of Christianity, then this is the place to start. Here we give some basic content on the existence and evidence of God, who Jesus is, The Holy Spirit and Faith.

"Finding Purpose: The Quest for Joy in Life"
What we are all ultimately seeking
So where do we seek and find joy? As I mention in my bio, like many of us, I was seeking it in all the things of this world, where people tell me I should find it. Success, money, family, nice clothes, to be a little slimmer, to have the perfect hair, a fancy car, an amazing social calendar, likes on social media, the approval of others, to be popular. The thing is, I had all of these, and yes they would satisfy me for a short while, a little like that bar of chocolate satisfies a craving for a little while. But underneath it all, it was just a sticky plaster. Fleeting joy, then I was looking for the next thing to give me that buzz again, or sometimes when the initial joy or satisfaction wore off, I would feel really low and not great about myself.
The reason we can never truly and permanently satisfy that search for happiness, is because each one of us was made with an inbuilt desire for our creator. It's like a homing beacon built in to each of us, to ensure we never stop looking for Him until we have found Him.

You see, the thing is, each of us, was made absolutely on purpose. One of my favourite sayings (i'm not sure who should first be credited with it but it wasn't me) is that God, who created the entire world and all the amazing people in it, looked at the world and thought it needed one of YOU! You see God doesn't NEED you, He wanted you. YOU!! So He created you, and wants to spend time with you. He loves you more than any person ever could, and whats more, He already knows all our faults, and He STILL loves you. You are free to be your authentic self with Him as nothing you could do, could ever stop Him loving you! Isn't that liberating? We don't have to act a certain way with Him, or hide our faults or failings, or look a certain way, or have a certain thing. He loves you as you are!

Because He loves you so much, He wants you to be happy. He knows what things you do and don't do that will make you happy, and what things that might seem good in the now, but ultimately won't bring you that lasting joy, but only despair.

Would you give a child chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner just because it brings momentary joy to them? No of course not, you know it isn't good for them, and will ultimately bring them misery, poor health and a short life!
Guess what, our creator, our Heavenly Father does that for us too! Even if we can't see it, He knows what is good for us, and what will bring us that lasting joy.

Not convinced? You don't need to be! BUT what if I told you in persevering in your journey of discovery that you might find that elusive and lasting joy... you have nothing to lose and everything to gain, so lets move on.
Hint... He is all around us
How we can we know God exists?
Well, lets consider the alternative. That this entire world and every amazing thing in it, from the smallest grain of sand, to the largest mountain, from the miracle of the conception and birth of a child, and how intricately and perfectly each part of the ecology interlinks to sustain us and the earth. Evidence for God is literally all around us! I find it harder to believe that the detail of what makes our ecology and biology work so intricately with each other being an accident or fluke is far more unlikely than it being the genius design and creation of a creator.
Think about it, there must be billions upon billions of things all working in perfect harmony with each other to ensure the basic things we take for granted. Take us being able to take a breath into our lungs and process that oxygen in and through our body and exhale carbon dioxide and water vapor. The first tree had to have grown without a seed, so this thing grows but only if it has the perfect recipe of sun, water. and nutrient rich soil. It then needs to get to a certain size before it can start converting carbon dioxide and water (which we exhale) into energy and releases oxygen as a byproduct. I am by no means well educated in this department, but the process, only one of billions amazes me, and that's just one type of tree, there are hundreds!. It's too perfect to be an accident. None of the best things man has created have been created by accident and to believe they have been, would make people think we are a bit bonkers, they all come from an intelligent creator. No one would ever conceive that the car was created accidentally by all the parts just making themselves and falling together in the right way at the right time and in the right order. Of course we wouldn't believe that! Then why would we consider the creation of the amazing and far more finely balanced world we live in any kind of chance encounter or accident! The conception and birth of people and animals, each with their own unique blueprints, can not be an accident. Its absolutely miraculous! The richness of colours, the tastes of food, the beauty in the seasons. It is all evidence of a creator, and a pretty amazing one at that!

Our own longing for an elusive happiness is also evidence of God as we discussed in the first part.

So why doesn't God just 'prove' He exists to everyone?
Well in a way He does, we just don't always know how to interpret the messages He sends, and often times we just don't believe them.
How do you know there was someone called Julius Ceasar from 100BC? From books or his writings, or eye witness accounts, we don't say we don't believe he exists because we didn't see him, in person or hear from him personnally..... We have the same evidence from God. We have the Bible which is a collection of books, testimonies, writings and eye witness accounts. Not to mention the stories that have been passed down from generation to generation verbally. Whats more, unlike Ceasar, we DO get to hear personally from God, we just need the right means to hear and interpret Him!

Hearing from God
If God is real, why doesn't He speak to us?
Incredibly He does! Can you believe that? The same God that created the entire world, everything in it, including you and me, actually deigns to speak to us. Not just speak to us, but listen to us too! That blows my mind. I mean most people are impressed getting a glimpse of some famous movie star or sports star, but they never get to speak to them, let alone have a personal relationship with them. We get to do that with God. Wow!

So there are lots of ways God speaks to us. In the words of the Bible through other people, and in the New Testament Himself in the Man Jesus, in the words and teachings of the Church, in signs and wonders (yes they still happen), in other people and situations, and even personally through prayer.

I have heard from God many times, in fact we chat to each other pretty much all the time. I've learnt to interpret when God is speaking to me, and what He is saying, and you can too with practise and some tools that we can share with you.
Don't get me wrong, its not a big booming voice from heaven or a telephone call from the Almighty, but its just as clear when it comes.
It was Him that asked me to create this site and share with you what He shared with me. So in effect, in my words right now.... you are hearing God. He brought you here, He brought me here and He wants to share something with both you and me.

At the moment its a bit like a teams meeting with some technical issues, and we can help you iron those out during our online or in person sessions.

Jesus
So we have heard a bit about God, but who is Jesus?
Jesus is the second person of the Holy Trinity (something we will try to explain in one of our online or in person courses). Jesus is called the Word of God, and God made Man. Essentially Jesus is both God and Man. He came down from Heaven and became a true human being, whilst also retaining his Divinity as God. I know this sounds complicated, but God is pretty complicated and sometimes difficult for us as humans to understand. That's one of the reasons Jesus came, to explain things in person to us! The other reason he came, was to pay a debt on our behalf that we could never pay. Again that's a much bigger subject that's better explained in person, so we will cover these details in person or online.

Jesus spent 33 years on this earth, and 3 of those years He spent with 12 specially chosen Men, called Disciples or Apostles, teaching them everything we need to know now. He then commissioned those 12 men to go out and tell everyone else what they had learned from Jesus, and they in turn would commission others to do the same, until everyone had heard 'The Gospel' or good news that Jesus shared with them.

Don't worry if you feel like you haven't fully grasped who Jesus is, we will dive into this much deeper in the online or in person sessions!

The Holy Spirit
The third person of The Trinity
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is what helps us to know and hear from God. He gives us special gifts from God at our Baptism and Confirmation when He comes to dwell in our hearts. He is the 'helper' whom Jesus promised to send us after His resurrection and after He ascended into Heaven.
John 14:16-17
I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.
It was the Holy Spirit of God who spoke through the Prophets in the Bible (remember I said God speaks through others), It was also the Holy Spirit who created the new life of Jesus in the womb of Mary, it is the Holy Spirit working in and through the Church and her members today. It was the 'Spirit of God' who breathed life into Adam in the creation story, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit who has inspired and empowered the Apostles and all the Saints throughout the ages.

He is the life and breath of all that lives, and believe it or not, It is The Holy Spirit that has prompted you to come seeking Him and led you here!

Not only do we have a God that made us on purpose and loves us without reserve, that gave His life for us in Jesus, but he also gives us His Holy Spirit to give us wisdom and guide us through this life. It overwhelms me sometimes that God cares so much about me and YOU that He does all this for us.
